We are excited that you are interested in joining Trail Life USA, Troop GA-0412. Trail Life USA is a national faith-based character development organization for young men and as a charter member, it is considered an official ministry of Summit Baptist Church in Acworth, GA.
At Trail Life, we aim to provide a healthy, wholesome environment in which your son can learn skills for life – skills that not only enable him to excel today, but skills that help him to grow into a leader of others with the distinct attributes of purity, service, stewardship, and integrity.
If your family is interested in checking out our troop, we'd love for you to drop in at several meetings and see what we're about! Feel free to reach out to our Trailmaster so we can welcome you and guide you to the appropriate patrol. Parents are welcome to stay to observe; Parents of Fox Patrol boys must remain with their class.

On the First Monday of each month, trailmen wear their Class-A uniform and meet together before breaking into their patrols for their activities.
On the Last Monday of each month, our troop does not meet; Leadership uses this day for planning purposes.
Woodlands: One Saturday a month, we have a special event called "Hit the Trail", which counts toward earning a branch award. Activities depend on the topic being covered that month, but examples would be a local hike, service project, hobby rockets and pinewood derby. We do a campout twice a year, once in the Fall and another in the Spring. For Woodlands, award pins called "Branches" are given based on attendance and participation at weekly meetings and Hit the Trail (HTT) events.
Navigators & Adventurers: There is typically one Saturday activity or weekend campout each month and trailmen at this level participate in more "high adventure" activities such as ziplining, rafting, and backpacking. These groups take on more responsibility for planning their adventures and activities as well! Core badge work is focused on during weekly meetings and additional work is required to be completed independently by the trailmen. A variety of Elective badges are available, allowing boys to dive deeper into special interests they have or explore new ones! Opportunities for community service are provided and boys are encouraged to complete additional service hours to move up in ranks.
A boy begins on the Trail by completing a set of joining award requirements. On completion he earns the patch for his assigned patrol. This must be completed before any other awards are presented. This information can also be found in the Trailmen Handbook.
